Bodrum restaurants Its scene has changed beyond recognition over the last decade. The peninsula is now a place where three-Michelin-starred gastronomy, six Bib Gourmand addresses, and international brands with euro-priced menus coexist—yet on the same peninsula, there are also public beaches where you can eat lahmacun for 250 liras. The difference between the two worlds is what makes knowing where you eat in Bodrum so important.
This guide is the parent page for all food content on BodrumGuru. It covers the Michelin list, where to go by category and neighborhood, and 2026 price ranges, the service fee and cover charge ban that entered into force on January 30, 2026 and gathers Bodrum-specific tourist traps in one place.

Bodrum's Michelin-starred restaurants (2026)
The 2026 selection of the MICHELIN Guide Turkey was announced on December 4, 2025. The three-star restaurant in Muğla all three are in the Bodrum district.
The one-stars
| Restaurant | Where | Kitchen |
|---|---|---|
| Kitchen by Osman Sezener | Yalıkavak (Inside The Bodrum EDITION) | Modern Aegean, seasonal tasting menu |
| Maçakızı | Türkbükü (Maçakızı Hotel) | Mediterranean / Turkish. Chef: Aret Sahakyan |
| Mezra Yalıkavak | Yalikavak | Anatolian heritage, from farm to table. The new star of 2026, also holds a Green Star. Chef: Serhat Doğramacı |
There are no two-star restaurants in Muğla. Turkey's two-star restaurants are in Istanbul and Izmir.
Green Star (sustainable gastronomy)
- Grouper - Bodrum center, seaside. There is a fixed menu every evening.
- Mezra Yalıkavak — it also carries green next to the red star.
Note: Agora Pension & Restaurant and also Muğla's Green Star holder, but in Lake Bafa, within the Milas district — within a day trip distance from Bodrum, though not on the Bodrum list.
Bib Gourmand (good quality, good value cooking)
| Restaurant | Where | No |
|---|---|---|
| Bağarası | Bitez | Tavern setup under the tree. The new trend of 2026 |
| Mandalya | Dovecote | Seaside fish. The new one for 2026 |
| Beynel | Bitez | |
| Two Boats | Basement | |
| Authentic Ocakbaşı | Bodrum center | The reference Ocakbaşı of the peninsula |
| Arka Ristorante Pizzeria | Basement | Italian / pizza |
A striking pattern: Half of the Bib Gourmands Bitez‘Bitez is the peninsula's least talked about, yet highest Michelin-dense culinary district after Yalıkavak. It is the right address for those looking for serious cuisine without marina prices.
Other Bodrum restaurants in the guide
Bodrum addresses that have not received a star or a Bib Gourmand, but are included in the MICHELIN selection: Sait Palmarina Yalikavak, Hodan Yalıkavak, Zuma Bodrum Yalıkavak Marina, Hakkasan and Lucca by the Sea Mandarin Oriental, Göltürkbükü, Tuti (The Marmara Bodrum, center), Mallow (Susona Bodrum, Torba), Barbarossa (Kempinski Barbaros Bay, Yalıçiftlik), Sia Eli Gümüşlük, Board Bitez and Kornél (Bitez), Orchid Fish (Göltürkbükü), Dereköy Restaurant, Karnas Vineyards and Kısmet Lokantası Konacık.
This list may not include all Bodrum addresses in the guide; MICHELIN can add more during the season on its own website. For detailed descriptions of the Michelin addresses To our Bodrum Michelin guide You can take a look.
We compiled the addresses that newly opened their doors this season in a separate article: New venues in Bodrum 2026.
Categories by categories: whatever you want to eat, wherever
Fish and seafood
In Bodrum, fish is eaten in three different economies and the price difference is huge.
- Gümüşlük — the peninsula's classic fish-meze route. Tables are set in the sand and water. Per person spending is generally in the 800–1,200 TL range.
- Göltürkbükü / Türkbükü — the wooden pier tradition. Orkide Balık has been operating here for 35 years and is in the MICHELIN selection.
- Yalikavak Marina — the same fish, noticeably different price: 1,500 TL and above per person is being discussed for 2026.
- Bodrum Center, Neyzen Tevfik — the spine that is open year-round. Grouper (Green Star) is here.
- Dovecote — Mandalya is 2026’s new Bib Gourmand.

Ocakbasi, meat and kebab
Reference point Authentic Ocakbaşı (center, Bib Gourmand). The newly opened ocakbaşı and barbecue concepts in Bitez and Yalıkavak are multiplying every season, while long-standing addresses like Yalıkavak's meatball spot operating since 1991 remain. For the kebab side Our Bodrum kebab guide, for the Ocakbaşı side our ocakbasi guide var.
Aegean cuisine, herbs and local food
This is the most unique aspect of Bodrum, and most visitors miss it. Places that stand out with their herb-based menus Sia Eli (Gümüşlük) and Hamlet (Yalıkavak). On the meyhane side, there are Bitez's tree-shaded courtyards, Gümüşlük's taverna concepts, and long-established meyhanes in the center.
what you should eat in the regional delicacies section below We explained it in detail.
Breakfast
The Bodrum breakfast is divided into two: garden breakfast cafes in the inner villages (Villages like Bitez, behind Yalıkavak, Dağbelen, Dereköy, Çamlık, Etrim — places that bake their own bread and make their own jam) and brunch with a sea view locations. Both are completely different experiences and different prices. For the addresses To our Bodrum breakfast places guide Look.
Sushi and world cuisine
Yalıkavak Marina is the center of this category: Zuma (MICHELIN selection, Japanese), pan-Asian, Peruvian, and French Riviera concepts are concentrated here. Mandarin Oriental in Göltürkbükü is the second cluster of international brands with Hakkasan (Cantonese) and Roka (robatayaki). For sushi Our Bodrum sushi guide offers a separate list.
Beach club and beach dining
Dining on the beach in Bodrum is often not a “cover charge” minimum spend So, in the 2026 season, the minimum spend at the peninsula's upper-segment beach clubs ranges between 3,500 TL and €230; a minimum spend is applied even in places where admission is free. The question to ask is not “how much is the entry,”, “What is the minimum spend”.
Popular places
Bodrum's best value for money is found in traditional tradesmen restaurants and village eateries. The tradesmen restaurant tradition in Konacık, the village cuisine of Dereköy, and home-style cooking addresses in the center form the backbone of this category. In 2026, the cheapest hot meal is in an unexpected place: Cafés at public beaches operated by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism (Türkbükü, Yalıkavak, İçmeler and Bag).
For the street food side Our Bodrum döner and street food guide It tells the story of a different world.
Neighborhood by neighborhood: which region is known for what?
| Region | Character |
|---|---|
| Bodrum center | Of the peninsula open year-round single district. Along Neyzen Tevfik is the fish-taverna spine, around the castle are stone house Aegean cuisine, Orfoz's Green Star and Tuti at The Marmara. Pub Street, on the other hand, is a drinking zone, not a dining one. |
| Yalikavak | Of the peninsula gastronomy centerTwo of the three stars are here. Palmarina is an international brand zone and the most expensive place. Behind the marina, there are village-scale places with completely different prices — knowing this vast gap will be the most useful information for you in Yalıkavak. |
| Gümüşlük | Sunset and fish. Tables in the water, Rabbit Island. Cheaper than Yalıkavak, but there is a real difference in quality from table to table. In recent years, a modern Aegean layer has also been added (Sia Eli). |
| Türkbükü / Göltürkbükü | “The coast of ”being seen." The international fine dining block of Maçakızı and Mandarin Oriental. Right beside it stands a 30+ year tradition of pier fish dining. During the day, a minimum spending economy prevails. |
| Bitez | The peninsula's most underrated culinary region. Two Bib Gourmand, two selection addresses. Tangerine orchards, tree-shaded courtyards, garden breakfast, year-round open seaside fish restaurant. Within walking distance to the center and noticeably cheaper than the marinas |
| Turgutreis | Family and budget-oriented. A long mid-tier fish-and-kebab strip and marina. Here is the best sit-down fish dinner per Lira; yet it rarely appears on “best” lists. |
| Yalıçiftlik | Hotel-focused. There is almost no independent street food — you eat where you are staying or you drive. For those who want quiet fine dining without the scene. |
| Ortakent-Yahsi | Quiet alternative: coastal fishermen, breakfast under the olive tree, family guesthouse/villa economy. Prices are noticeably lower than Yalıkavak and Türkbükü |
Local delicacies that must be tried in Bodrum
Çökertme kebab
The dish identified with Bodrum. Finely chopped sautéed meat or beef/chicken, with matchstick potatoes at the bottom, topped with garlic yogurt and hot buttered tomato sauce.
The origin of its name controversial And to be honest, there’s no clear answer. Three explanations are circulating: (1) In the Milas district, Çökertme village(1) where it comes from, (2) because the potatoes “collapse” under the yogurt and sauce, (3) because its filling nature makes one collapse into a chair. None of the sources claiming which one is correct provide any documentation.
The difference in quality is huge: versions made with pre-fried potatoes are common on tourist routes. In our Çökertme kebab and Aegean herbs guide We explained the addresses that do it well.
Grasses — these are the truly native ones
Bodrum's true cuisine is really in its herbs. What to look for on your meze plate:
- Samphire — boiled, with olive oil, with lemon. Bodrum’s signature meze.
- Tangle wild fennel, blessed thistle (usually with lamb or in olive oil), radika, turnip weed, cibez.
Herbs are seasonal; spring is the richest period. A good tavern's meze platter contains at least two or three herbs — if not, it is a sign that the kitchen does not work with the seasons.
Cretan traces
Bodrum carries the traces of the population that arrived with the 1923 population exchange in its cuisine. Cretan spread (aged kaşar cheese, walnuts, herbs) are in most meze platters. Some of the long-established seafood restaurants in the center are known for Cretan dishes.
Others
- Stuffed and fried zucchini blossoms — Early summer. Having it on the menu is an indicator that the kitchen works seasonally.
- John Dory — there are places that make it as a roast with the bone still in; it is much more interesting than ordering ordinary sea bass or sea bream.
- Stuffed mussels, grilled octopus, fried calamari — street and tavern classics.
- Turkish delight rice — traditional Bodrum wedding meal. Rare on restaurant menus; try it if you see it.
- Bitez ice cream — made from local fruit, with no added sugar.
- Bodrum tangerine — Grown in the orchards of Bitez and Ortakent; used to make jam, cocktails, and desserts.

2026 price bands and the “Bodrum lahmacun index”
| Segment | Per person (meal, 2026) |
|---|---|
| Local eatery, village-style breakfast, street food | 150–400 TL |
| Mid-range restaurant | 400–1,000 TL |
| High-end segment | 1,500–3,000 TL and above |
| Fine dining and marina brands | 100–270 € per person (excluding drinks) |
| Fish — Gümüşlük | 800–1,200 TL |
| Fish — Yalıkavak Marina | 1,500 TL and up |
The Bodrum Lahmacun Index. A lahmacun at one of Bodrum’s luxury resorts in the summer of 2026 30 € (approximately 1,600 TL) was priced at. That same month, on the same peninsula, lahmacun at the public beach cafes run by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism 250 TL. The six-fold difference sums up the reality of prices in Bodrum in a single sentence: it’s not Bodrum that’s expensive here, but, the economy you selected.
Another practical tip: at the same restaurant Lunch is significantly cheaper than dinner It’s possible. A real strategy for those who want to try fine dining but are on a tight budget.
Service fee and cover charge are now banned — what you need to know
This is the most important change of 2026, and most guides on the internet still carry old information.
The amendment to the Price Labeling Regulation, published in the Official Gazette on January 30, 2026, took effect on the same day. The following are prohibited in restaurants and cafes:
- At any rate service fee
- Cover, table fee, “table setup” fee
- Mandatory live music / stage fee
- Even just including the phrase "service charge" on the menu
In the regulation “and under any similar name” expression, by changing its name, is also closing the application path. Bread, appetizers, sauces, and everything brought to the table unrequested must be free of charge.
The penalty is 3,973 TL per transaction and is multiplied by the number of affected receipts. For complaints Alo 175 or TÜBİS can be used via e-Government.
What you should do in practice: If you see a “service” or “cover charge” line on your bill, this Not legal and you can refuse payment. Tipping is optional—it just cannot be added to the bill in advance. Since practice in the industry is shifting toward cash %10 civarı nakit bahşiş It is established.
Reservation, season and tip
Reservation: It is a must in July and August. For Friday and Saturday evenings at major venues. 3 to 4 weeks in advance You need to call ahead. It is even earlier for Michelin-starred kitchens and Maçakızı / Mandarin Oriental restaurants. Tables that coincide with sunset time in Gümüşlük and tables in the water are also booked in advance.
Season — Bodrum is a place divided in two:
- Closed in winter: Most of Gümüşlük, the beachside of Bitez, almost all of Türkbükü, all beach clubs. Some fish restaurants openly declare their season as April to October.
- Open year-round Bodrum center and two marinas. Orfoz, the long-established fish restaurants on Neyzen Tevfik, the year-round seaside fish restaurant in Bitez, and some brands in the Yalıkavak marina.
A local note: The quality and variety of fish are best between September and April, not in July-August. The best time for fish in Bodrum is outside the tourist season.
Six traps unique to Bodrum
Complimentary appetizer
Bodrum's most common complaint pattern: the menu is requested, the mezes arrive, the bill gets inflated. According to the January 30, 2026 rule, everything brought to the table unsolicited is free of charge. As soon as you sit down, saying “menu please, we don't want appetizers” and sending back the unwanted plate is the most practical defense.
2. Fish sold by the kilogram, with no visible price
Classic. Ask for the price per kilo in writing before the fish is weighed., be with them while they are being weighed and clarify whether the price is per kilo or per portion.
3. Checking the bill line by line
This is the most repeated advice on Turkish complaint forums. Compare it with the menu and look for cover charge/service lines that should no longer exist.
Menus written in Euros
A real 2026 phenomenon becoming widespread in the upper segment. A lahmacun costing 30 € is not a translation error, but a deliberate pricing strategy targeting yacht traffic. The Euro menu is a sign of which economy you have entered.
5. The beach club that says “Free admission”
Most of the time, it means a minimum spend of 3,500–4,000 TL or €50–230. Not the entrance fee. minimum Problem.
Places living on their former glory
Business turnover is high in Bodrum and the “best of Bodrum” lists have been circulating the same names for years. Before going to a venue with a source dated 2026 or with his/her own current social media account Confirm. The same applies to the names on this page: some may close during the season.
A simple rule: Restaurants with someone standing at the door trying to draw you inside are not where the locals go. None of the addresses in the Michelin selection or neighborhood eateries call out for customers; they operate on reservations.
Affordable yet good food in Bodrum: the real strategy
It is true that Bodrum is expensive, but that is an incomplete statement. There are three completely disconnected economies on the peninsula, and you decide which one you enter. Tactics that work:
Walk one street inland
In Bodrum, the price increases almost linearly with the distance to the sea. There can be a two- to threefold difference between a table on the marina front and a table two streets back in the same town. This is especially Yalikavak‘Striking: Palmarina's international brands and the village-scale artisan restaurants behind the marina are in the same neighborhood.
Eat lunch
The 2026 guides also note that lunch service at the same restaurant is significantly cheaper than dinner. Going to a high-end cuisine you want to try during lunchtime is the most practical way to enjoy the same chef's work on a much more reasonable budget.
Head out to the inner villages
The village restaurants and breakfast gardens along the Dereköy, Gürece, Dağbelen, Çamlık, Etrim, and Mumcular route offer the best price-to-quality ratio in Bodrum. Bonus: the road itself is scenic. For a map of the peninsula's interior To our Bodrum districts guide You can take a look.
Don't underestimate public beach cafes
In 2026, the peninsula's cheapest hot meal is at the public beaches operated by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism: Türkbükü, Yalıkavak, İçmeler and Bag. Entrance to the sea, sunbeds, and umbrellas are free of charge; the revenue comes from the café, and the prices (lahmacun 250 TL, döner 550 TL) are well below the peninsula average.
Come in June or September.
Same kitchens, same chefs, much easier reservations, and usually a more reasonable price. Also the right choice for fish: The quality and variety of fish are at their best between September and April.
What to eat in Bodrum by month?
| Period | What stands out? | No |
|---|---|---|
| March–May | Wild herbs at their peak: tassel hyacinth, blessed thistle, dandelion, samphire. Artichoke, broad beans | The peninsula's most authentic culinary period. Most of the coastal businesses open in April. |
| June | Zucchini flower, first tomatoes, fresh green beans | The season is open, but the crowds and prices haven't peaked yet. The most balanced month. |
| July–August | Beach club menus, barbecue, cold appetizers | Reservation 3–4 weeks in advance. Fish variety at the weakest period of the year |
| September–October | The fish is starting to turn, figs and grapes, mandarin preparation | The best food and drink months of the peninsula. Kitchens are open, the crowds are gone |
| November–February | Fish at its best. Olive and olive oil harvest, Bodrum tangerine | Gümüşlük, Türkbükü, and beach clubs are closed. The center and marinas are open. |
Bodrum's most overlooked reality: In terms of gastronomy, the peninsula is better outside of the summer tourism season. Fish is at its best in winter, and herbs in spring. The summer months are right for the scenery and atmosphere, not for the ingredients.
Special conditions: families with children, vegetarians, allergies
Families with children: Turkish cuisine is relaxed in this regard; even if there is no children's section on the menu, rice, pasta, meatballs, and buttered bread are available everywhere. Taverns can be noisy late in the evening; sitting down early (7:00 PM–8:00 PM) is both quieter and makes it easier to find a table. The tables on the sand side of seaside restaurants are the most comfortable for children.
Vegetarians: Bodrum is one of the easiest regions for vegetarians in Turkey — because Olive oil dishes and herbs are already at the center of the cuisine.. A meze plate is often a meal in itself. Keywords to look for: olive oil-based, herbs, dolma, sarma, roasted. For vegans, since yogurt and cheese are common, it is necessary to ask and confirm.
Allergies: Due to the meze culture, the risk of cross-contamination is real. Hazelnuts and walnuts are particularly common (Cretan paste, walnut-based mezes). Showing the Turkish phrase “...alerjim var” in writing is the safest way.
Price and character comparison by region
| Region | Price level | Area of strength | In winter |
|---|---|---|---|
| Bodrum center | Middle | Fish, tavern, variety | Open |
| Yalikavak | Highest | Fine dining, world cuisine | Partially open |
| Türkbükü / Göltürkbükü | High | Fine dining, beach club | Largely closed |
| Gümüşlük | Medium-high | Fish, sunset, atmosphere | Largely closed |
| Bitez | Middle | Michelin intensity, tavern, breakfast | Partially open |
| Turgutreis | Low to medium | Value for money, family | Partially open |
| Ortakent-Yahsi | Low to medium | Coastal fisherman, breakfast | Largely closed |
| Konacık and the interior villages | Lowest | Artisan restaurant, village kitchen | Open |
